Kate Silvio
Kate Silvio’s works arise from investigations of our relationship with nature’s intrinsic forces of change and progression. Previously known for her large-scale sculptural work in steel, Silvio now incorporates other materials in her search to fill physical spaces with her insights on the essence of progression.
Reflections on the human feelings of expectation, fulfillment, disappointment, anxiety, and surprise permeate her work, beckoning viewers to join in this evolving exploration of our real selves.
Kate Silvio is an alumna of the College for Creative Studies and holds an MFA in Metalsmithing from Cranbrook Academy of Art. She has exhibited extensively in the metro Detroit area. Recent corporate commissions include a wall installation at Henry Ford Hospital in West Bloomfield, Michigan.
